Greeting card for the supporters of the immigration of the holy Rav Rabbi Elazar of Oshpitzin (Oświęcim), with confirmation by the Rav and his blessings to the donors. Oshpitzin, 1935.
‘To the rabbinic the Naggid … I have obtained an amount of … to support my trip to the Holy Land … and now in my old age Thank G-d I was able to obtain a license from the government and my hope is to joyfully immigrate to Zion soon therefore all those who helped me in this Mitzvah … I shall remember at a time of heavenly mercy for good and salvation in all matters.

The holy Rav Rabbi Elazar Halevi Rosenfeld of Oshpitzin [1862-1943] the son of the holy Rav Rabbi Yehoshua of Kaminka and the son-in-law of Maran the holy Gaon the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. Was also known as Rabbi Elazar Oshpinitzer. For approx. thirty years served as the Rav and Av Beis Din of Oshpitzin and in 1936 immigrated to the Holy Land. He opened a Beis Midrash in the center of the Me’ah She’arim neighborhood and many of the residents of the town followed him. Was well-known as a Tzaddik.
