Letter by the pious Rebbetzin Mrs. Mirel Halberstam of Tchechoiv, the wife of the holy Rav Rabbi Chaim Halberstam of Ropshitz the son of the holy Rav Rabbi Yeshaya of Tchechoiv. New York, 1940.
On the official stationery of the holy Rav Rabbi Chaim Halberstam, the beloved eldest son of the holy Rav Rabbi Yitzchak Yeshaya of Tchechoiv, the youngest son of the holy Rav Maran the Divrei Chaim of Sanz, who immigrated to the USA and opened the Tchechoiv beis Midrash in New York and who was also known as the Rav of Ropshitz.
In the letter, the Rebbetzin Mrs. Mirel Halberstam, the wife of the Rav of Tchechoiv New York, writes to their close friend Rabbi T.A. Hertzberg about her and her great husband’s health, telling him about the Rheumatic disease she suffered from.
The Tzaddik Rav Rabbi ChaimHalberstam of Tchechoiv – Ropshitz [passed away in 1956] the eldest son of the holy Rav Rabbi Yitzchak Yeshaya of Tchechoiv. Was one of the leaders of the union of Admorim of America. On his mother’s side he was the grandson of the holy Rav of Opatow and the holy Rav of Belz.
