Short letter by the Union of Rabbis, about the state of the Mikvehs of America, handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda Greenwald of Siget, Av Beis Din of Columubs – Ohio. 1949.
Short letter that was sent by the Union of Rabbis of the USA, to rabbis wherever they are, including the Gaon Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda Greenwald of Siget, then Rav in Brooklyn and eventually Av Beis Din of Columubs – Ohio.
The letters asks about the state of Tahara and Mikvehs: ‘Is there a Kosher Mikveh in his community or city’, to which Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda responded in his handwriting ‘Of course. A Kosher Mikveh with all its virtues’.
The second question is ‘If not, should one be built or campaigned’. Rabbi Yekutiel answers, after erasing the question, that it is good to publish English brochures.
The Gaon Rabbi Greenwald added his handwritten signature to the postcard.

The Gaon Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda Greenwald [1889-1951] one of the rabbis of America before and after the Holocaust. Served as Rav in Brooklyn and later in Columbus, Ohio. Was born in Siget, Was famed for his dozens of halachic Seforim and Seforim about the history of Hungarian Jewry, especially his Sefer Kol Boh on mourning.
