"Should degrade ourselves for the Mitzvah of settling the Holy land and by this may we merit liking the Mitzvah of its settling" – letter to Rabbi Noah Weinberg and his son, leading Slonim Chassidim in Tiberius. Slonim, [1885].
"Due to the intensity of your stress and your huge debts I wanted to write his honor that he should not ask whether to travel abroad … surely the intention of the Admor who sent to the Holy Land the content of his holy intention was … about the business of Torah and Avodah so that we should know and like the Mitzvah of settling the Holy Land since this Mitzvah is valuable in its time and place", letter by Rabbi Yehuda Leib ben Rabbi Yosef Yisrael to Rabbi Noah Weinberg and his son Rabbi Yitzchak matityahu. The content of the letter: a discussion of Rabbi Eliezer Katz’ suggestion to send Rabbi Noah’s wife, who was gravely ill, to be cured abroad and the Rav’s response to the matter. Then the letter discusses rabbi Noah’s request for assistance due to his debts and stress. He blesses him that he merit settling Eretz Yisroel "with cheerful countenance and the love of brothers who sit together in the good and expansive Holy Land". If he has to travel abroad, he blesses him that he succeed in receiving assistance and asks to coordinate his arrival. At the end of the letter, several important Slonim Chassidim of Tiberius are mentioned.
Rabbi Yitzchak Matisyahu ben Rabbi Noah Weinberg (ca. 1875-1945) was born in Tiberius and since his youth was a leading Slonim Chassid who guided Avrechim on Chassidus and Avodas Hashem. In 1929 was forced to leave Eretz Yisroel and reached New York via Egypt. Was the older brother of the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Weinberg, the Admor of Slonim, author of Birkas Avraham.
Rabbi Noah ben Rabbi Yechiel Michl Aharon Weinberg (1860-1927) the grandson of the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Weinberg (the first) the founder of Chassidus Slonim the Admor author of Yessod HaAvodah and the brother of the holy Rav Rabbi Shmuel the author of Divrei Shmuel. Was sent by his grandfather, together with a group of Slonim Chassidim, to Tiberius. In 1900, on the order of the Admor of Slonim, was one of the founders of the Or Torah Yeshiva on the grave of the Tana Rabbi Meir in Tiberius.
Rabbi Yehuda Leib ben Rabbi Yosef Yisroel Kastelnitz, a leading Slonim Chassid of Tiberius, the son-in-law of Rabbi Mordechai Chaim who was the brother of the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Weinberg (the first) of Slonim. Immigrated to Eretz Yisroel in 1876. His son, the holy Rav Rabbi Mordechai Chaim, the leader of the Slonim Chassidim, was the son-in-law of Rabbi Eliezer Katz. Rabbi Yehuda Leib’s son-in-law, rabbi Moshe Clears, was Av Beis Din of Tiberius and one of the founders and leaders of the Or Torah Yeshiva.
