Batei Tefillin DeRashi, which had belonged to the holy Rav Rabbi Elazar Menchaem Mendel of Lelov.
The Tzaddikim of the generation greatly exalted the Avodah of the Tefillin.
The Tefillin were miraculously preserved, generation after generation. We did not dare to examine the Tefillin; they are, however, rendered Kosher.
The Holy Rav Maran the Tzaddik Rabbi Elazar Menachem Mendel of Lelov [1827-1883] the son of the Holy Rav Rabbi Moshe of Lelov and the son of the daughter of the Holy Rav HaYehudi HaKaddosh MiPshischa, a sublime Tzaddik and wonder-worker who was famed for his prayers and Avodas Hashem.
Once, when Rabbi Elazar Mendel’s pious daughter travelled to Galicia, she met with the daughter of the holy Rav of Sanz who told her that she once heard her holy father saying: מיר זענען דאך אין הומעל, האבן מיר גיזעהן אז דעם שענסטן סדר אפגירעכט רבי אלעזר מענדל מירושלים [we … have seen and realized that the most ‘beuatiful’ Seder was conducted by Rabbu Elazar Mendel of Jerusalem].
The square of the Batei Tefillin 4.5 cm. and its height is approx. the same. Relatively well-preserved.
