Letter by the Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Binyomin Fox, the Rabbi of Grosswardein, about the Meshulach Rabbi Eliezer Valenstein, Grosswardein, the Eighth of Hanukkah, 1923 .
In the letter, the Rabbi of Grosswardein confirms that the Meshulach Rabbi Eliezer Valenstein has done his work faithfully and notes the pay he is due for raising funds for charity for Kollel Shomrei HaChomot.
The Great Gaon Rabbi Binyomin Fox (1877-1936), served as Rav Av Beis Din in several holy communities: Brashov, Jakeh, Fezing, Banya and in 1918 was appointed to serve as the Rav of Grosswardein after his father’s passing. Rabbi Binyomin was a renowned Gaon and Darshan. He was active in Grosswardein in a time when great rabbis lived there, including Rabbi Pinchas Halevi Tzimetboim (who served as Rosh Av Beis Din of the city), his son-in-law the Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Yaakov Weiss author of Minchas Yitzchak (and eventually Gaon Av Beis Din of HaEdah HaCharedis of Jerusalem) and the Holy Rabbi author of Ahavas Yisroel of Vizhnitz.
