"Sugya Detoch Kedei Dibur by the Gaon Admor" – innovations handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Yeshayahu Hollander, a disciple of Maran the Chasam Sofer in the lifetime of his great teacher.

Innovations from a copying of a disciple of Maran the Chasam Sofer, which were written in his lifetime, and were partly published in Chidushei HaChasam Sofer on the Shas.

According to the comments in Sefer Chidushei Chasam Sofer on the Shas, Bava Kama-Bava Metzi’ah, Jerusalem 1991, p. 95, these innovations are from copying by the disciples of the Chasam Sofer, the Geonim Rabbi Yaakov Katz and Yeshayahu Hollander, Dayanim of the Hamburg community. The manuscript was owned by Maran the Maharam Sofer author of Yad Sofer and his succeeding son the holy Gaon Rabbi Yochanan Sofer of Erlau.

Rabbi Yeshayahu ben Rabbi Aharon Hacohen Hollander (1806-1873) was born in Altona near Hamburg and studied Torah with the rabbis of his town. At the age of fifteen, he travelled with his friend Rabbi Yaakov Katz from Germany to Hungary, to study at the yeshiva of the Chasam Sofer in Pressburg. After approx. ten years, they received the blessing of the Chasam Sofer to return to Germany to distribute the Torah there. After returning to Altona, he became one of the learners of the Kloiz there for approx. forty years. Left manuscripts with Torah innovations by his Rav Maran the Chasam Sofer.
