Historical! Lengthy letter handwritten by one of the Gabaim and heads of the Ashkenazic city committee of Jerusalem describing the purchase of lands near Rachel’s Tomb by the Gaon Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Kalischer and what became of them.
A letter that was written in the early days of the British rule, apparently in the 1920s, to the Jewish city committee of Jerusalem with suggestions and practical plans to redeem the lands purchased by the Gaon Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Kalischer near Rachel’s Tomb in Beis Lechem. Rabbi Kalischer had purchased the lands already in 1875.
