Rabbi Moshe David Scihff – the son of Rabbi Yaakov Schiff. Was born in Pristik (Austria). Was a member of Tze’irei Agudas Yisroel in Tranov, a student of the Beis Midrash of the holy Rav of Bobov Rabbi Ben Zion Halberstam and a disciple of Rabbi Dov Berish Wiendenfeld in Tsheben. Was sent as an official representative to the great congress of Agudas Yisroel in Marienbad. In 1935, he immigrated to Erezt Yisroel and studied at the Merkaz Harav Yeshiva. At the same time, he also studied Jewish studies at the Hebrew University. He housed the high command of the Irgun. He served as the vice chairman of immigrants from Galicia in Israel and as the vice chairman of Tze’irei Agudas Yisroel of Tel Aviv. Every Sabbath he used to deliver a sermon at the Great Synagogue of Tel Aviv. Later he served as a representative of the United Jewish Appeal to Latin America and later was Av Beis Din of Caracas, the Chief Rabbi of Venezuela and the Chief Rabbi of San Paulo, Brazil. Was known as a talented speaker and lecturer, great in Torah and wisdom. He was also one of the editors of Sefer Anshei Shem (Jerusalem-Tel Aviv, 1940).
