Postcard handwritten by the famed Chassid of Tiberius Rabbi Yoel Ashkenazi to Kollel Shomrei HaChomos, on charity matters. No date.
The postcard is also stamped with his round stamp. The postcard was sent during the week of Parashas Yitro from Tiberius to Jerusalem and contains a request by Rabbi Yosel Ashkenazi to send the funds raised for the needy of Tiberius.
The famed Chassid Rabbi Yoel Ashkenazi [1884-1970] the son of Rabbi Baruch ben Rabbi Ephraim Yosef Dov. In 1890, immigrated with his father to Safed. Married the daughter of Rabbi Noah Weinberg, the grandson of the holy Rav the Yessod HaAvodah of Slonim and therefore settled in Tiberius. Was known as a sharp Talmid Chacham, a man of charity, and a wonderful storyteller who told stories he saw and heard from the eldest Chassidim and Tzaddikim he followed, especially the holy Rav Rabbi David Moshe of Chortekov and descendants of Lechovich and Slonim. Was appreciated by the greatest Admorim, including his relative the holy Rav the Divrei Yoel of Satmar and the holy Rav the Shefa Chaim of Klausenburg.
