Call of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America to support the war efforts of the USA during World War II.

Instruction on how to assist the war efforts of the USA during World War II – a letter by William Weiss, the secretary of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America (UOJCA) to rabbis, community dignitaries and members of the community.

[1] leaf, official stationery, 28 cm. Original copy.

The content of the letter: In order to assist in the war against the forces that are trying to reverse civilization and lead it back to barbarism, the USA was forced to fight for itself and its values. The religious communities play an essential role in assisting the war effort and maintaining moral values. The communities should take part in the local civil defense, help the Red Cross, enable community rabbis to join the navy or the army, support the families of the recruits, maintain the community routine, recommend recruited community members as candidates for badges of honor, keep their vigilance and remain composed during emergencies and pray every Sabbath for the success of their country and government.

Aging stains, fold marks, a blemish to the side of the leaf not affecting the text, good condition.
