Testimony of the rabbis’ distress during the worldwide economic depression, in a letter by the Rav and author rabbi Avraham Reznik. New York, 1931.

[1] leaf, official stationery, 25 cm. Handwritten and signed by Rabbi Reznik. In his letter, the writer apologizes for being able donate a single dollar only since he is unemployed and a previous commitment to other needy.
Rabbi Avraham ben Rabbi Meir Shaul Reznik (1866-1942) a Darshan and prolific writer, a leading disciple of Rabbi Avraham Tzaddok Bagin at his yeshiva in Droya. Served as Rav and Moreh Tzeddek in Kokand and Ashgabat in Russia. At the beginning of the Bolshevik Revolution he was arrested and with his wife’s assistance escaped to Moscow. In 1924, he immigrated to the USA. Since he belonged to the "old school’ of rabbis, he could not find a rabbinic position in the USA and during the Great Depression faced starvation. Later, he served as Rav in New York, Queens, Lowell and Rochester. Published many articles in religious journals under the pen name "Rav A.N. Ezrikam" and "Rav Ezrikam Safra" and published the Seforim Talalei Oros on Sefer Tehillim (Berditchev, 1905′ Deva, 1931), LeMa’am Achai VeRe’ai (Vilna, 1912), Kitvei haRav A.N. Ezrikam (Poltva, 1913), Hegyonos VeHishtapchus HaNefesh (New York, 1924), HaNoten Imrei Shefer (Deva, 1929).
Fold marks, aging stains, filing holes, tears and gluing to the upper part of the leaf, good condition.
