Lengthy letter, two pages, sent by the Great Gaon Rabbi Kopel Reich to his beloved disciple for his engagement. With important details about his yeshiva. Budapest, 1879.
The letter, which was handwritten and signed by him, begins with superlatives describing his beloved disciple Rabbi Moshe Aharon Eppler for his engagement to the daughter of the Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Binyomin Ze’ev Sussman Sofer, the author of Chalifos Simlas Binyomin.
The Gaon Rabbi Kopel Reich writes enthusiastically that he was happy to hear these good tidings and calls the Shiduch ‘a daughter of a Talmid Chacham and a praised tzaddik’. He blesses the couple on his behalf and on behalf of his family members with Torah, Chochma, happiness and wealth.
Rabbi Kopel announces the engagement of the son of his brother-in-law Rabbi Moshe Leib Greenwald, grateful for being the matchmaker. He describes the excellent state of the yeshiva and its students. After his signature and repeated blessings, he sends his regards to the Gaon Rabbi Binyomin Ze’ev Sussman Sofer.
The Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Kopel Reich [1839-1929] one of the greatest rabbis of Hungary. The Rav of Budapest for over forty years whose influence was significant. A disciple of Kesav Sofer. Followed the Divrei Chaim of Sanz and additional Tzaddikim.
