"Tomorrow is the Yahrzeit of my father and today we are preparing to set up the tombstone on his grave"; letter of blessing by Rabbi Aryeh Leib Hacohen the son and right-hand man of Maran the Chofetz Chaim to the Naggid Rabbi Avraham Meirs, Radin, Elul 1934.
In the letter, Rabbi Aryeh Leib sends warm blessing to the Naggid Rabbi Avraham Meirs (whom he calls "My friend and my father’s friend") for the New Year. Among others, Rabbi Aryeh Leib writes that tomorrow is the Yahrzeit of his great father and he is intending to set up a tombstone on his grave.
Rabbi Aryeh Leib Hacohen Av Beis Din of Radin [1861-1939] the eldest son and right-hand man of Maran the Chofetz Chaim. In his youth, he studied with the Beis Levi of Brisk and with Rabbi Yosef Zundel Hutner. After the Chofetz Chaim’s passing, he succeeded him as the Rav of Radin.
