Rare, enthusiastic letter of blessings, by the great Gaon Rabbi Elezer Yehuda Finkel, the Rosh Yeshiva of Mir and its founder after the war. Mir, Sivan 1933.
The letter was sent to Rabbi Yisroel Dov Rappaport of Berlin for the marriage of his daughter Mrs. Leah to Rabbi Yitzchak Biran of Berlin.
The Rosh Yeshiva sends them warm blessings for their marriage and expresses his admiration for the young couple who were intending to immigrate to Israel.
The Rosh yeshiva adds his regards to Rabbi Rappaport’s in-law and his signature and stamp.
The great Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Finkel [1877-1965] Rosh Yeshiva of the Mir Yeshiva and founder of the New Yeshiva after the Holocaust, was one of the great scholars of the generation and member of Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Agudas Yisroel. Son of the Saba of Slabodka and a disciple of the Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Gordon of Telz, the Ridbaz, the Great Gaon Rabbi Chaim of Brisk, rabbi Baruch Ber and the Chofetz Chaim.
