Special, lengthy typewritten letter by the holy Admor Rabbi Baruch of Munkatch, the only son-in-law of the holy Rav the author of Minchas Elazar, writing to the Munkatch Chassidim about his travelling to serve as Rav in San Paulo. 1948.

In the lengthy warm letter, Rabbi Baruch of Munkatch explains to his Chassidim in the Holy Land about the necessity to travel to San Paulo to make a living.

He writes that he found in Brazil a city with froty thousand Jews, which requires his presence during the several months of the summer only while the rest of his time could be dedicated to building the institutions of Munkatch, especially the important Talmud Torah he intends to build.

The Rabbi writes at length about the importance of making a living to provide for his orphaned children. ‘G-d is my witness that what I did was for its own sake, since I feared that providing for my family will require all my efforts and G-d forbid I will not be able to achieve my life goal [to establish a Talmud Torah]’.

The letter was written on the official stationery of the organization ‘The Central Committee for Tinokos shel Beis Rabban in Eretz Yisroel under the presidency of the Admor Av Beis Din of Munkatch and the vicinity’. Hand-signed by him and with an addition of a line handwritten by him.

This organization was founded immediately when he arrived in Israel and was the foudation of the Munkatch institution in Israel. For several reasons and events, the Rabbi rarely acted within the original Munkatch court but rather within varied independent organizations.

The holy Tzaddik Rav Rabbi Baruch Rabinowitz of Munkatch [1914-1997] was born to his father the holy Rav of Partzev and in 1933 became the only son-in-law of the holy Rav Rabbi Chaim Elazar of Munkatch. In 1937, after his in-law of Munkatch’ passing – he became his successor, heading the Yeshiva and the Chassidic court. During the Holocaust, he managed to save many Jews and was an active member of Va’ad HaHatzalah. After the Holocaust, his wife the Rebbetzin of Munkatch passed away leaving him to take care of their young children. He remarried, became the Rav of San Paulo, Cholon and eventually a Rav in Petach Tikvah. Authored Sefer Binas Nevonim and more. His sons include the holy Admor Rabbi Moshe Leib of Munkatch and the holy Admor of Dinov.
