Rare letter, recommendation for an Avrech to immigrate to Erezt Yisroel, handwritten by the great Gaon Rabbi Eliyahu Kletzkin Rosh Av Beis Din and a leading Posek. Lublin, not dated, mid 1920s.
In weak and slightly broken script, the Rav of Lublin joins a recommendation for being given an immigration certificate for one of the rabbis, blessing him that he merit ascending to Har Kodsho and seeing the coming of the Messiah.
He signed ‘Eliyahu Kletzkin Av Beis Din of Lublin" and added his stamp.
This letter was thus written when he was still serving as the Rav of Lublin, before immigrating to the Holy Land.
The great Gaon Rabbi Eliyahu Kletzkin, The Lubliner Rov [1852-1932] the Rav of Lublin and additional important communities. Authored many Sifrei Shut and Drush. In his old age, he immigrated to Jerusalem, where the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld appointed him the Rosh Yeshiva of Ohel Moshe and where he took part in public activities, signing broadsides and manifestos.
