Sefer Tikkunei HaZohar, printed by the grandsons of the Rav of Slavuta in Zhitomir, holy and most impressive copy which belonged to the famed holy Rav Rabbi Aharon of Chernobyl.
This copy was printed in 1863, with the enthusiastic approbation of Rabbi Aharon of Chernobyl which appeared at the beginning of the volume and was the only approbation of this edition, referring to its beauty and importance and blessing the buyers with ‘Longevity and good years and may Hashem benefit them…’
Impressive copy, with a rare Admoric binding in the shades of gilded purple, with gilt ornaments and gilt leaves artistically decorated. Had belonged to the holy Rav Rabbi Aharon of Chernobyl himself. According to tradition, he received this copy from his holy in-law the holy Rav Rabbi Yehoshua Heschil Shapiro, immediately after it was printed as he writes in his approbation to this edition. The title ‘HaRav Hatzaddik of Chernobyl’ always refers to him.
On the flyleaf, a handwritten dedication to ‘HaRav Hatzaddik Admor Shalita of Chernobyl’ and a similar one on the back flyleaf as well.
On one of the first leaves, light notations of lines, possibly handwritten by the holy Rav of Chernobyl.
The holy Rav Rabbi Aharon of Chernobyl [1787-1872] the eldest son of the holy Rav Rabbi Mordechai the Maggid of Chernobyl the son of the holy Rav Rabbi Menachem Nachum of Chernobyl the Me’or Enayim. Was educated by his grandfather the Me’or Enayim. Succeeded his father in Chernobyl and was revered by his Chassidim and by his brothers the Admorim. Served as the president of Eretz Yisroel in Ukraine and was involved in all the affairs of Kollel Wholin.
