Chessed LeAvraham, by the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham HaMalach and the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham of Kalisk. Printed by the Order of the Holy Rav Aterest Yisroel of Ruzhin. First Edition, Chernowitz, 1851.
Extremely rare! Chessed LeAvraham by the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Hamalach, the son of the holy Rav the Maggid of Mezeritch. First edition, Chernowitz, 1851. As indicated by the title page, the Sefer was published ‘by the order of the Admor the pure and holy Rav Yisroel of Ruzhin grandson of the Malach the author’.
At the beginning of the Sefer, an approbation by the holy Rav Rabbi Yisroel of Ruzhin and this is one of three printed approbations by him. After writing the approbation and before the Sefer was published, the holy Rav of Ruzhin passed away and his holy sons the holy Rav Rabbi Sholom Yosef of Ruzhin and the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura added their approbation to his.
Alongside the writings of Rabbi Avraham HaMalach there are Drushim on the Torah by Rabbi Avraham Kalisker who was buried in Tiberius and Likkutim by great Chassidic Tzaddikim.
This copy is extremely rare due to it being the rare first edition and due to the fact that the name of the city ‘Chernowitz’ was omitted from some copies but not from this one!
The margins of this copy are quite wide.
[2], 40 leaves. 24 cm. Stains and water stains on the leaves of the Sefer. Wear to the first leaves not affecting the text. Non-original binding. Good condition.
