Sefer HaChaim by the Maharal’s brother, published by the holy Rav the Ohev Yisroel of Opatow and with his enthusiastic approbation. Lvov, [ca. 1830].

Appearing in the Sefer, an important and pedigreed signature ‘Shmuel Shmelkeh Halevi Ish Horowitz’. Apparently, near the signature, the year in which is was written ‘1852’ was also written.

Sefer HaChaim, which is divided into five sections including Sefer Ge’ulah VeYeshu’ah, Sefer parnasa VeChalkala etc. Authored by Rabbi Bezalel the older brother of Marana the Maharal. In addition to its great importance, the Sefer is attributed with holy Segulos, which are referred to in the approbation of the holy Rav the Ohev Yisroel of Opatow, who was one of the initiators of the publishing of this edition, as written in the foreword.

The Ohev Yisroel wrote, in his approbation [copied from the Medzibezh 1817 edition], as follows:

"And the publishers hurried to fulfill my wishes and provide for the many and anyone who wishes to live – will choose this holy Sefer and may Hashem Yisborach write and sign us in ‘Sefer HaChaim’ to redeem us and bring us to the holy city of Jerusalem… Avraham Yehoshua Heshil of Opatow"

[2], 2-30, [3] leaves. Pedigreed signature. On the title page it appears as if the book was printed in 1804.
