Tractate Chulin of the Babylonian Talmud, with all the commentators and Rabbeinu Alfas, printed by the partners the grandsons of the Rav of Slavuta in Zhitomir, 1860.

Two title pages with red lettering. Includes al the commentators, the Rif, the Rosh and the Maharsha.

The important and pedigreed printery of the holy Tzaddikim of the Shapiro family was established in Slavuta by the holy Rav Rabbi Moshe Shapiro the son of Rabbi Pinchas of Koretz and was considered one of the most pedigreed printeries, both because of the quality of its printing and because of the pedigree of its owners.

The printery which was closed due to an informing to the authorities was reestablished in Zhitomir in 1847 by the grandsons of the Rav of Slavuta, Rabbi Chanina Lipa and Rabbi Yehoshua Heschil Shapiro and operated until 1864.

Seforim that were printed at the printeries of Slavuta and Zhitmoir were known for their special holiness and sanctity, their printing blocks being immersed in a Mikveh before being used. It is common knowledge that possessing a book that was printed in Zhitomir or Slavuta is a Segulah for an abundance of blessing and success.
