Chamisha Chumshei Torah Chok LeYisroel per Chaim Vital, with additions of Yosef LaChok by the Chida. Zhitomir, printed by the partners the grandsons of the Rav of Slavuta Chanina Lipa and Yehoshua Heschil Shapiro. 1861. Five volumes. A complete set of varying conditions.
A set including all sections of the Kabbalistic Chok LeYisroel Chumashim, printed by the Tzaddikim of the Shapiro family, the grandsons of the Rav of Slavuta. Each of the volumes contains the two title pages.
Section I: Bereshis. 492 pp. According to the Bibliography, there is an additional leaf or leaves at the end, however the Bibliography does not list what is missing. An illustration on the last leaf, typical of an ending of the volume. Two title pages. The first title page and additional leaves at the beginning of the volume and at the end were completed from a different copy. Considerable wear to dozens of the first leaves, affecting the text. Most of them completed with leaves from a different copy. Aging stains. Considerable fungus stains throughout the entire book. Original binding, detached and blemished. Moth holes.
Section II: Shemos. 432 [i.e. 476] pp. Two leaves from a different copy. Considerable moth perforations. The first leaf is cut in half – both halves exist. The first leaves are detached. Original, blemished binding, detached. Aging stains and wide water stains.
Section III: Vayikra. 472 pp. Moth holes. The title page was completed from a different copy. The original title page is cut and detached. A leaf cut in half of Parashas Tazri’ah. the last leaves are detached.
Section IV: Bamidbar. 424 pp. 2 title pages. 4 leaves at the end are missing. Detached and dismantled spine. No binding. Stamps of Safed.
Section V: Devarim. 432 [i.e. 478] pp. Two title page. The first title page is cut and about half of it is missing. The first leaves with the title page are detached. 17 eaves are missing. Moth perforations. The upper margins are missing from the first leaves, affecting some of the text which was mostly completed with Ashkenazic and Sephardic script. Ownership notations ‘Chaim Yitzchak Sendik’, stains. Marks of fungus. Original binding, partly detached.
