Letter by the Gaon Rabbi Binyomin Wolf Sussman Sofer of Budapest, a disciple of Maran the Chasam Sofer, to his brother-in-law the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Chaim Fleishmanen, the Rav of Zsámbék.
The letter deals mainly with the distribution of his books and booklets and contains a lengthy apology for not having sent his brother-in-law halachic responsa for a long time.
On its verso, a letter to his mother-in-law the Rebbetzin describing the progress of his important children in the Torah and noting with satisfaction that they study Torah at the ‘Schule’ synagogues and Batei Midrash.
The Gaon Rabbi Binyomin Ze’ev Wolf Sussman-Sofer [1826-1898] the son of Rabbi David Zvi and grandson of Rabbi Eliezer Sussman and Rabbi Daniel Frostitz. Studied with the Maharam Schik and the Ketav Sofer and for a couple of years, with Maran the Chasam Sofer. Was the Rav of several important cities and for dozens of years, the Rav and Av Beis Din of the Chevras Shas of Budapest. Author of Chalifos Simlas Binyomin.
