The Kabbalistic book Sha’ar Orah, Zholkva, 1739. The personal copy of the famed Holy Rav Rabbi Nosson of Breslov and his holy in-law Rabbi David Hirsch ‘Hagadol’ – with a notation handwritten by him on the flyleaf.
The basic Kabbalistic book Sha’ar Orah by the Kabbalist Rabbi Yosef Gikatilla, with an elucidation by Rabbi Matisyahu Delacrut. Zholkva, at the printery that was previously in Amsterdam, 1739.
On the flyleaf, an ownership notation by the holy Rav Rabbi Nosson of Breslov ‘This Sefer belongs to the wonderous rabbinic great in Torah and Yirah and Chassidus Rabbi Nosson of Berditchev’. This notation was written when he was living in Berditchev, following the holy Rav Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev, where he wrote some parts of his Sefer Kedushas Levi.
Appearing beneath this notation is an ownership notation by Rabbi Nosson of Breslov’s in-law, the holy Rav Rabbi David Zvi Hirsch Auerbach of Kremnitz, rhe Rav of Shorigrad who was also known as ‘Der Groiser Rabbi David Hirsch’; belongs …. to the rabbinic David Hirsch of Shorigrad.
In a rare manner, the holy Rav Rabbi Nosson of Breslov handwrote on the flyleaf a promissory note for charity money: המשמעות שטר חוב זה להחתום מעבר לדף סך שמנה מאות רענדליך הלענדיר וזמן פרעון לא יאוחר מר"ח אלול דשנת תקע"ד לפ"ק.
This notation was written several years after he left Berditchev in 1802.
This item was examined by the experts of Tiferet Auctions and they believe it is the handwriting of the holy Rav Rabbi Nosson of Breslov.
[2], 86 leaves, professional restoration mainly to the edges of the first leaves. The last two leaves are also restored, affecting the text. Moth perforations, mostly professionally restored. New, elegant leather binding.
