Basic book! First edition of Mateh Ephraim! Zholkva, 1835. Rabbinic copy from Safed.
It was customary to study the holy book on the days of mercy and forgiveness, on the fifty days from Rosh Chodesh Elul to Shmini Atzeres. By the famed Gaon Rabbi Ephraim Zalman Margolis of Brody.
Ownership signatures and stamps from Safed. ‘Yaakov Mordechai Elboim’. ‘Naftali ben Rabbi Yaakov Mordechai Elboim’ was a grandson of the Tzaddik Rabbi Kopel of Lokveh who passed away in 1916. David Bernstein of Safed.
The book Mateh Ephraim is a basic book for all matters of Yamim Nora’im. It is an important source for Sefer Mishnah Berurah.
This copy, without Elef LaMateh that is printed in other copies of the book, is a copy of the first and rare edition. Zholkva, 1835.
