Large compilation of responses handwritten by the holy Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Rabin, one of the loyal disciples of Maran the Divrei Chaim of Sanz, with a copy of a response by Maran of Sanz.
Sixteen complete responses and an additional partial response on long sheets handwritten by Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Rabin. The last response is a copy of a response he had received from Maran of Sanz, including the titles of honor and friendship written on him by his teacher and Rav, who revered and honored him.
The holy Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Rabin [1824-1877] was born to his father Rabbi Zvi Elazar, a Dayan in Krakow. Was a disciple of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz, who said of him that he was perfect in Torah and Yirah. Was chosen to edit the Shut Divrei Chaim authored by his Rav Maran of Sanz. Corresponded with Gedolei Hador and the Geonim of Galicia, the Sho’el UMeshiv and Rabbi Shlomo Kluger. Served as Rav of Kortshin and Zabrov.
20 leaves. Large sheets with fine, dense script. Some corrections. 16 complete halachic responses. Some of them hand-signed by him and all handwritten by him. The last response ends in its middle.
