Manuscript by the Tzaddik Rav Rabbi Yom Tov Lipman Rabin the son of Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Rabin of Kartshin, the author of Shem Olam. Jerusalem, 1903.
The manuscript was written on verso of a letter of condolence he received after the passing of his mother, the pious Rebbetzin Mrs. Chana Rachel. The letter was written by his brother-in-law the Tzaddik Rav Rabbi Eliezer Auerbach.
On its verso, he wrote words of comfort and prayers for his mother.
It should be noted that the pious Mrs. Chana Rachel, the daughter of Rabbi Yisroel Dov, the wife of the Tzaddik Rav Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Rabin, bought herself a burial plot on the Mount of Olives. Despite her being buried abroad, a headstone with her titles and the date of her passing was erected on the grave plot.
The Holy Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Rabin (1824-1877) one of the greatest Poskin of Galicia. The Rav of Kartshin. Was born to his father Rabbi Zvi Hirsch who was a Dayan in Krakow. A disciple of the Holy Rabbi Chaim of Sanz, who chose him to edit his responsa. In return, the Divrei Chaim helped him publish his Sefer Beis Aharon on Gittin, which was approbated by Gedolei Hador. His sons, the Tzaddik Rav Rabbi Menachem Mendel and the Tzaddik Rav Rabbi Yom Tov Lipman, the writer of this manuscript, immigrated to Eretz Yisroel.
[1] lined paper. Varied stamps of the Tzaddik Rav Rabbi Yom Tov Rabin. professional restoration with completion of time perforations and damage. Fold marks restored with tape that was ripped off. Some words are blurry. Good condition.
