Lengthy halachic responsum handwritten by the Gaon the Machzeh Avraham of Brody Rabbi Avraham Mendel Steinberg of brody, one of the greates Geonim and Poskim of Galicia. Not dated.

This four-paged manuscrips deals with Hilchos Shabbas and Hilchos Tahara and more.

Large parts of this responsum was printed in his Sefer Machzeh Avraham, the section of Orach Chaim Siman 56; however, there are textual variations between the manuscript and the printed version.

This is the major part of the responsum whose beginning and end are missing.

The great Gaon Rabbi Avraham Menachem Mendel Halevi Steinberg, the Rav of Brody and author of Machzeh Avraham [1847-1927] one of the greatest Meshivim of his generation and one of the founders of worldwide Agudas Yisroel. Was considered a Gaon of Galicia alongside the Geonim the Maharsham of Brezan, Rabbi Yosef Engel and Rabbi Meir Erik. Was a Chassid of the Ruzhin dynasty and was close to the Tzaddikim of Sadigura. The Rav of Sniatin and Brody. His manuscripts were lost during World War I and the Holocaust, except for the three parts of the Machazeh Avraham which survived.

[1] double leaf. A total of four pages. Handwritten by him in dense and eloquent script. Wear and small tears, slightly affecting the text. Moth perforation. Good condition.
