Artistic Megilas Ester, written in 11 lines, Ashkenazic scribal script (Beis Yosef), ink on vellum.
Megilas ester, ink on vellum. 13 sheets, 38 columns, 11 lines. Height: 27 cm. Scribal script. Ashkenazic script (Beis Yosef).
Rolled on an Etz Chaim, the height of 53 cm.
Appearing before and after the text of the Megilah are color illustrations, each the size of a column. In addition, all the columns of the Megilah are ornated with color illustrations on the upper and lower margins of the sheets. The Etz Chaim handles are made of silver. On top of the upper handle is a Torah crown with small bells. The case of the Megilah is covered with ornate leather with the inscription "Megilas Ester". A leather lace is attached to the leather cover for tying the Megilah. An impressive, elegant work of art.
"Megilas Ester per the custom of HaGra" written in 11 lines so that Haman’s ten sons (and the preceding line) will not be written in larger letters than the rest of the Megilah and will naturally occupy a complete single column.
Scratches to the silver handle. The vellum is as good as new. Very good condition.
