Megilas Shir haShirim, artistic, impressive and ornate. Ashkenazic scribal script (Beis Yosef) ink on vellum.

Impressive, elegant Megilas Shir HaShirim. 37 cm. Written by an expert scribe and artistically decorated. Ink on bright, quality vellum, with exceptionally large letters.

4 sheets, 12 columns, 17 lines. Height: 37 cm. Ashkenazic scribal script (Beis Yosef). Above and beneath the text there are color and gilt artistic decorations. Appearing on the top of the Megilah is its title in Large, gilt scribal script.

Rabbi Akiva said of Megilas Shir haShirim that it is the holy of holies (Tractate Yadayim, 3, 5). It is the custom of some Jewish communities to read this Megilah on Sabbath eve, in the Aravis prayer of the Sabbaths of Sefiras HaOmer, at the end of Leil HaSeder, on Shabbas Chol Hamo’ed and Shvi’i shel Pesach. Reading the Megilah is considered a Segulah for finding a spouse, Shlom Bayis, an easy delivery, good health and protection.

Very good condition.
