Rabbi Yaakov ben Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef Nunis Vais, the Rav of Livorno and Rosh Yeshiva there. Was a famed and sharp Gaon in the Chida’s generation. A disciple of the rabbis and Dayanim of Livorno Rabbi Chananya Mazal Tov Bondy and Rabbi David Malach. Author of Chidos Yaakov on the Shas, Afar Yaakov on the Torah and additional compositions.
