Several lines handwritten by the great Gaon the author of the Chazon Ish and with his signature, about innovation in Mikva’os. The year is not noted.
The letter begins with the words ‘רב שלומים’ and after them, the Chazon Ish writes to the addressee that he wishes to consult on the innovation in Mikva’os: ‘כאשר שמעתי ע"א [=על אופן] החידוש במקוואות, רצוני להיוועץ’ הדוש"ת אי"ש [=הדורש שלום תורתו אברהם ישעיהו]
The letter was apparently written to the great Gaon, the Rav of Bnei Berak, Rabbi Yaakov Landau.
It is common knowledge that the doctrine of the Chazon Ish regarding Mikva’os is special and differs from other acceptable doctrines. Gradually, however, thousands adopted his doctrine.
