Sifra Toras Kohanim, published by Maran the Chofetz Chaim and given as a gift to the Etz Chaim Yeshiva from which it came to Maran the Sheves Halevi. 


This copy, which was published and printed by Maran the Chofetz Chaim, was given by him to the Etz Chaim yeshiva of Jerusalem, as written on the two title pages: 

‘The gift of the Rav the Gaon Author Shalita to the Etz Chaim Yeshiva’. 

 Maran the Chofetz Chaim stipulated that the book not be removed from the yeshiva; however, the management of the yeshiva exchanged the book, as written on the title page, and gave it to the Kabbalist Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Gimpel Burg, a student of the yeshiva and Mashgi’ach of the Sha’ar HaShamayim Yeshiva. 

From him, the book reached Maran the author of Sheves Halevi the great Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Halevi Wosner Rosh Av Beis Din of Zichrom Meir, Posek Hora’ah and the Rosh Yeshiva of Chachmei Lublin.  

Sifra "known as Toras Kohanim with a new commentary in clear language compiled from the Ravad, the Rash of Schontz and the Korban Aharon …" by Rabbeinu Yisroel Meir Hacohen of Radin the author of the Chofetz Chaim and in addition, glosses by HaGra of Vilna elucidated by him. Two sections with a separate title page for each. First edition with these commentaries – Piotrkow, 1911.

[1], 105, [1], 2-94 leaves. Most of the book is detached from the spine. Significant moth perforations. Paper additions to the lower part of the first leaves, not affecting the text. Slightly fragile paper. Wear. Original binding, moth-eaten. Fair condition.
