Letter handwritten by Maran the holy Gaon Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinsky of Vilna to the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Lipman Gurevich of Melbourne, Australia, for the municipal Talmud Torah of Vilna. 1938.
Letter for the municipal Talmud Torah of Vilna, with the handwritten signatures of the community leaders and the managers of the Talmud Torah and with it, an additional letter handwritten by the great Gaon Rabbi Chaim Ozer. The letters were sent to Rabbi Yosef Lipman Gurevich of Melbourne, Australia, to support the Talmud Torah.
The managers of the Talmud Torah note that it is the most senior institution in Vilna, existing for more than three hundred consecutive years.
Rabbi Chaim Ozer pleads with his relative and friend Rabbi Gurevich to make an effort for them. At the end of his letter, he asks about the Jews of Poland and what is being done for them. In those years of terrible economic crisis, the Jews of Poland faced stress and hunger.
Rabbi Chaim Ozer ends his letter with warm blessings to Rabbi Gurevich, his wife and entire family.
