[2], 110 leaves, 37 cm. Owner’s signatures from Vilna, [1833], stamps of a synagogue in Chile and stamps of Moshe Rosensohn of Vilna, handwritten corrections and glosses.
Moshe Rosensohn (1820-1896) a rich Jew from Vilna, philanthropist and scribe who owned a large library and was one of the supporters of Chevras Mefitzei Haskalah in Petersburg. Due to his calls to adopt some of the principles of other religions and forgo parts of traditional Judaism, he was considered an insane missionary and was buried outside the fence, as a convert.
Worn binding, aging stains, some moth damage, tears and gluing to one of the leaves, fair-good condition.
