Sefer Sha’arei Orah, by the Divine Kabbalist Rabbi Yosef Gikatilla, with an elucidation by Rabbi Matisya Kolkert. The Sons of Shmuel Argelbrand Press, Warsaw, 1883. With a stamp of the Ridbaz.
[2], 106 leaves, 20 cm. On the title page, the stamp of Rabbi "Yaakov David Ridbaz Wilovsky" of Slutzk. Two additional stamps, one of them upside down, on the flyleaf.
Sefer Sha’arei Orah, a basic Kabbalistic Sefer, by the Divine Kabbalist Rabbi Yosef Gikatilla, Zholkva 1771 edition. The title page of the Sefer introduces the words of the Ari about the Sefer being a gate to Kabballistic wisdom. The disciples of the Beshet and HaGra consider it a most important Sefer.
The Ridbaz, the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov David Wilovsky, (1845-1913) was a famed scholar and Posek. Served as Rav of Azbelin, Bovroisk, Wilkovishk and Slutzk. In 1903 immigrated to the USA and served as Rav in Chicago. Two years later, he immigrated to Eretz Yisroel and served as Rosh Yeshiva and Rav in Safed. Author of Shut HaRidbaz , Nimukei HaRidbaz on the Torah, a commentary on the Yerushalmi Talmud and additional Seforim.
