Letter on public matters and blessings for a wedding handwritten by the great Gaon Rabbi Zvi Pesach Frank the Rav of Jerusalem to the great Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Landau the Rev of Bnei Berak. 1955.
In his letter, he responds to Rabbi Landau’s request for his opinion on what was written in the Machanayim booklet stating that he had not yet seen the booklet and therefore, cannot express his opinion on it.
Later, he thanks Rabbi Landua for his blessings for his grandson’s wedding, responding with blessings of his own.
He signs: מחבבו ומוקירו – צבי פסח פראנק.
The great Gaon Rabbi Zvi Pesach Frank [1873-1960] the Rav of Jerusalem and its Av Beis Din. A revered Posek and great Gaon. One of the founders of the Chief Rabbinate, a close disciple of Maran Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Hacohen Kook. Was not identified with any party or movement. In his old age, headed the battle against the recruitment of girls into the army and the greatest rabbis and Poskim supported his Psak of ‘יהרג ואל יעבור’. His clear and important halachic Seforim Har Zvi and Mikra’ei Kodesh are cornerstones of Hora’ah and Halacha.
