Rare broadside by the holy Rav the Gaon Maran the Imrei Emes of Ger and his brother the famed Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Nechemya Alter about the duty to leave the National Council in Jerusalem. 1927.

"I have received a letter from my brother Maran Shalita, about Chukas Hakehilos and since the matter will soon be put on the table, I hereby publish it. Nechemya Alter".

In the statement that follows he writes that it is the duty of any pious rabbi to leave the National Council.

Background: The National Council represented the interests of the Jews before the Mandatory Government. After a struggle, Agudas Yisroel succeeded in obtaining partial recognition; yet this involved a statement by each of its members that he was leaving the National Council. This could be done twice a year and before these deadlines, Hareidi rabbis published the duty to do so.

This rare broadside contains the clear statement of the holy Rav the Imrei Emes of Ger, by means of his brother the holy Gaon Rabbi Nechemya Alter, who served at the time as the Rosh Yeshiva of Sefas Emes of Jerusalem, that it is one’s absolute duty to leave the National Council.
