Broadside of mourning for the holy Tzaddik the holy Rav Rabbi Chaim Meir Yechiel Shapiro of Drohobych, the grandson of Ateres Tiferes Yisroel of Ruzhin and the holy Rav the Saraf of Mogelnitza. Jerusalem, 1924. 

The broadside sorrowfully announces that at 1 a.m. of Rosh Chodesh Iyar, the holy Rav passed away and his funeral will leave today, Sunday, from his house in the Bukharim neighborhood at the court of Rabbi Nissim Nachum. 

The holy Rav Rabbi Chaim Meir Yechiel Shapiro author of Sefer HaShalom VeHaAchdus, who was also known as Rabbi Chaim Munia of Drohobych, was the son of Rabbi Avi’ezri Zelig of Strei, the grandson on the holy Saraf of Mogelnitza and the holy Maggid of Kozhnitz. On his mother’s side, he was the great grandson of Ateres Tiferes Yisroel of Ruzhin and the grandson of the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura. He married the Rebbetzin the daughter of the holy Rav Rabbi Yitzchak of Bohush. Thousands of Russian refugees gathered in his court in Drohobych. In 1922, he immigrated to the Holy Land, where he established organizations for building the country.
