Toras Chessed – Stolin. By Rabbi Shlomo Slavin, Ram at the Beis Yisroel Yeshiva of Stolin. Bilgoray, 1938. rare single edition.
Toras Chessed by the Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Slavin, one of the leading disciples of the great Gaon Rabbi Baruch Ber Leibowitz of Kamnitz. Torah innovations on three subjects of tractate Ketubis (Petcah Patu’ach, Ger Katan, Zar She’achal Terumah). And a Ma’amar on the honor of the Torah and the Ten Commandments.
The book was published before World War II and only a limited number of copies were printed. After the Holocaust, only a few of them remained and it does not appear in important databases and is not documented in the Vinograd Collection and others.
This is a rare copy of a book that was published by one of the important Ramim of the famed Stolin Yeshiva.
This copy is stamped with the author’s stamp on the title page, in weak, partial ink. In addition, there are several words handwritten on the leaf of the introduction.
The Gaon Rabbi Shlomo ben Rabbi Michael Shaul Dov Slavin, a Ram of the Beis Aharon and Yisroel Yeshiva of Karlin -Stolin, A leading disciple of the Geonim of Lithuania, Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Sender Kahana Shapiro and Rabbi Baruch Dov of Kamnitz. Authored several compositions including Divrei Shlomo and more. Was murdered in 1943.
