"I request to pray for him that Hashem will cure him and he will not have to undergo surgery"; letter by Rabbi David Zvi Aryeh Schneersohn with a request from his Rav, Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld to pray for the Rav of Alexandria, Rabbi Avraham Avichzer. Alexandria, [1923].
[1] leaf, official stationery, handwritten and signed by Rabbi David Zvi Aryeh Schneersohn, who signed as a Chassid to his Rav "David Zvi Aryeh ben Chanah".
The letter refers to Rabbi Avraham Avichzer’s support of the poor of Eretz Yisroel and the refugees that were deported by the Ottomans from Eretz Yisroel to Alexandria. It also describes Rabbi Avichzer’s condition and great weakness. The writer adds a request that rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld pray for Rabbi Avichzer and bless him "… so that I will be able to tell him that surely Hashem will vure him … and this will make him stronger".
