Halachic Responsum on Hilchos Ribis (interest) by the Holy Gaon of Teplik, Rabbi Shimshon Aharon Polansky, with his handwritten signature and stamp. Sent to the famed Tzaddik of Jerusalem Rabbi David Baharan.

The Gaon of Teplik notes that he is suffering from pain in his hand and therefore the letter is typewritten. Elul, early 1940s.

The Gaon Rabbi Shimshon Aharon Polansky "The Tepliker Rov" (1876-1948), the father of the Psak and Hora’ah tradition, one of the greatest Poskim of all generations who taught many great rabbis and Poskim. At a young age served as Rav in several cities until he was accepted as the Rav of Teplik, where he served for about twenty years as Rav and Av Beis Din. Later, he immigrated to Eretz Yisroel, living in a basement apartment in the Beis Yisroel neighborhood. Was renowned as greatly knowledgeable and as a sharp Gaon. The greatest Poskim were his disciples or assistants, including Maranan Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach, Rabbi Yisroel Yaakov Fischer, Rabbi David Jungreis, Rabbi Shmuel Halevi Wosner, the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, the Rishon LeZion the Gaon Rabbi Ovadya Yosef and more.
