Invitation issued by Keren HaTorah of Agudas Yisroel to Torah learners and learners of the Daf Yomi to a religious conference on the Hillula day of Maran the Gaon Rabbi Meir Shapiro of Lublin, headed by the Tzaddikim and leaders of the generation.
The invitation was sent to Rabbi Yaakov Landau, one of the leaders of Poalei Agudas Yisroel. The festive conference took place on the 7th of Cheshvan 1942, the Hillula day of the great Gaon Rabbi Meir Shapiro of Lublin, the founder and Rosh Yeshiva of Chachmei Lublin and founder of the Daf Yomi. At the time, terrible rumors started to surface about the destruction of the Jews of Europe which was occupied by the Nazis.
The following leading rabbis were attending the conference: Maran the Chazon Ish, the Admorim of Sadigura the Abir Yaakov and the Knesses Mordechai, the Gaon of Ponovezh, Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Hacohen Levin, Rabbi Meir Zvi Eisenstadt and Rabbi Yoel Folk.
It should be noted that although Keren HaTorah was a body that belonged to the worldwide Agudas Yisroel, it is not mentioned in the invitation, despite the buses leaving from the center of Agudas Yisroel in Tel Aviv.
