Sefer Shemos BaAretz, Yom Teru’ah, Tosefes Yom HaKippurim Vekapos Temarim – on tractates Rosh Hashana, Yoma and Sukkah, by Rabbi Moshe ibn Chaviv. Second edition, The Press of Wilhelm Friedrich Later Druker Aldo, Karlsruhe, [1766]. The copy of Rabbi Eliezer Deutsch with handwritten glosses. 

[1], 16; 30; 41 leaves. Ownership notations and many signatures, including by the son and disciples of Rabbi Eliezer Deutsch indicating that he had owned this copy.  With some scholarly, handwritten glosses. 

Rabbi Moshe ben Rabbi Shlomo ibn Chaviv (1654-1696) the Rishon LeZion, Rav of Jerusalem and Rosh Yeshiva there. Was born in Salonika and immigrated to Jerusalem in his youth. Was renowned as a sharp and knowledgeable Gaon and the author of many books including Shut, halachic innovations and innovations on the Shas. His grandson, Rabbi Yaakov Chuli, was the author of Yalkus Me’am Lo’ez.


Rabbi Eliezer Chaim ben Rabbi Avraham Deutsch (1850-1916), a disciple of Rabbi Yehuda Assad and Rabbi Menachem Eisenstadt of Ungvar. Served as Av Beis Din of Hanishvitz and as Av Beis Din and Rosh Yeshiva in Bonyhad. Authored many books on the Shas, Torah and Halacha including Tevu’os Hasadeh, Chelkas Hasadeh, Pri Hasadeh, Si’ach Hasadeh, Tzemach Hasadeh and Duda’ei Hasadeh. 

New binding with gilt lettering. Stains. Moth perforations. Tears and taping to the title page and leaf of approbations. fair-good condition.
