The personal copy of the holy Maggid of Kozhnitz, which he studied and on which he wrote his glosses, the basic book of Kabbalah Vayakhel Moshe that was printed in Dessau in 1689. 

The copy is stamped with the stamp of the Maggid of Kozhnitz’s grandson, the holy Rav Rabbi Chaim Meir Yechiel Shapiro of Drohobych, who inherited the library of his holy grandfather and whose books contain comments and glosses handwritten by the holy Maggid of Kozhnitz. 


This book contains glosses handwritten by the Maggid of Kozhnitz, almost all of them of a single word, and two lengthy glosses in faded ink. Many stamps of Chaim Meir Yechiel Shapiro of Drohobych (Galician). 

About the book: 

Vayakhel Moshe authored by Rabbi Moshe ben Rabbi Menachem [Graph] of Prague. Compilation of Ma’amarei Hazohar and other books of the Ari’s Kabbalah. The press of Moshe ben Simcha Bonem Dessa, Dessau, [1698]. First ediiton. The book includes the Masveh Moshe elucidation on Ma’amar Adam DeAtzilut. 

The Kabbalist author Rabbi Moshe ben Rabbi Menachem Graph [ca. 1650-1705] was born in Prague and moved to Nikolsburg, Moravia in 1689. 



The holy Maggid Rabbi Yisroel of Kozhnitz [1737-1815] one of the greatest Tzaddikim and Kabbalists of all generations. Named after Ohr Shivas Hayamim Maran the holy Ba’al Shem Tov and with his blessing. A leading disciple of the holy Rav Rabbi Shmelke of Nikolsburg, with whom he used to travel to the great Maggid of Mezeritch. Later, he became a leading disciple of the Noam Elimelech of Lizhensk and was considered the one who inherited ‘The power of the heart’ from him. Thousands flocked to him, headed by the greatest Tzaddikim: His grandsons were the awe-inspiring Saraf of Moglanitza, the holy Rav author of Meloh HaRo’im, the holy Rav Rabbi Yechezkel of Koznir, the Saba Kaddisha Rabbi Yissachar Ber of Radoshitz and the holy Rav the Chidushei HaRim, who was practically raised by him.

His grandson, the holy Rav Rabbi Chaim Meir Yechiel of Drohobych [1869-1924] the son of the holy Rav Rabbi Aviezri Zelig Shapiro the son and successor of the awe-inspiring Saraf of Moglanitza, who was the son of the Rebbetzen Mrs. Pearl the daughter of Ateres Yisroel the holy Maggid of Kozhnitz. The holy Rav Rabbi Aviezri Zelig was the son-in-law of the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura and his son the holy Rav Rabbi Chaim Meir Yechiel was the son-in-law of the holy Rav Rabbi Yitzchak of Bohush – the eldest grandson of Tiferes Yisroel of Ruzhin. Was lovingly called "Rabbi Chaim Munya" and authored the holy Sefer "HaChaim VehaShalom". Was famed for his kindness and charity as well as his love of the Holy land and its settlement. In his old age he even immigrated to Jerusalem, where his dynasty, that of Drohobych and Gvadzhitz, continued. 

[4], 5-14, 1-58 leaves. Complete copy. This copy includes the leaf that is missing from most of the copies, the author’s introduction and apology. Non-active moth perforations. Stains and wear to the edges. Slightly broken and detached leaves. Old, non-original binding, blemished. Fair-good condition.
