On the identity of the Shita for tractate Kiddushin, see Sarei HaElef (M.M. Kasher and Y.D. Mandelbaum, Jerusalem, 1979) p. 260, 610. Possibly, the manuscript of this Shita came from the library of Rabbi Bezalel Ashkenazi.

Rabbi Raphael Yosef Sholom – the cousin of Maran the Ben Ish Chai. The son of Rabbi Abdallah and the grandson of the Rav of Baghdad and the leading Rav of Babylon Rabbi Moshe Chaim. He purchased a courtyard in Jerusalem and after he moved to live in Damascus, someone fraudulently sold his courtyard to another. Subsequently, the members of the Beis Din of Baghdad wrote in 1893 a letter to the Rishon LeZion and his Beis Din a request to save the deprived and stand by the side of the grandson of the leading Sage of Babylon. Rabbi Raphael Yosef Sholom passed away in 1897.
