Segulah for stopping a plague! Shut HaRim by the holy Gaon the Chidushei HaRim of Ger. Josefow, 1867. Published in the first year after his passing. 

With a foreword by his grandson the holy Rav the Sefas Emes of Ger. Printed at the end of the book are innovations on the tractates of the Shas. Handwritten ownership notation.

The holy Rav Rabbi Chanoch Henich of Alexander, the successor of the Chidushei HaRim of Ger, pleaded with his grandson Rabbi Aryeh Leib, the future holy Rav author of Sefas Emes, to hurry and publish the book Shut HaRim by his grandfather Rabbi Yitzchak Meir of Ger, and by doing so, stop the plague of his time. That is precisely what happened. 

The holy Rav Rabbi Yitzchak Meir of Ger [1799-1867] a disciple of the Maggid of Kozhnitz, Rabbi Bonem of Pshischa and Rabbi Menachem Mendel the Saraf of Kock. The founder of Chassidus Ger. A famed Gaon with thousands of Chassidim.
