Important sermon for Shabbas Hagadol with Aggadic innovations handwritten by the Gaon the Author of the Maharam Schick, containing two lengthy Ma’amarim.
The sermons containing Aggadic innovations, words of faith and the advantage of light over darkness deal with matters of redemption and faith, exile and providence.
On the title page, he handwrote ‘Divrei Aggadah for Shabbas Hagadol 1848 and 1849’. Before the first sermon, he again wrote ‘Divrei Aggadah on Shabbas Hagadol 1849’.
The second sermon ends with the words ‘כימי צאתך מארץ מצרים אראנו נפלאות.
The sermon was delivered by the Maharam Schick in Yargin, where he served as Chief Rabbi and Rosh Yeshiva for 24 years.
6 pp. Four leaves including the biding leaf and title page. Ancient leather binding.
The leaves are worn and slightly crumbling in their edges. In the margins of the leaves, some slightly erased lines, yet everything is readable. Non-professional restoration with old tape.
