Toldot Yaakov Yosef, Tanina edition. Mezhibuzh, 1817.

Sefer Toldot Yaakov Yosef, the first Chassidic book – printed in Mezhibuzh in 1817 – second edition with an approbation by the holy Rav the Ohev Yisroel of Opatow.

Sefer Toldot Yaakov Yosef, the first Chassidic book to be published, authored by the holy Rav Rabbi Yaakov Yosef Hacohen of Roshkov, a leading disciple of the holy Besht. The book is one of the stable pillars on which the entire Chassidic communities rely.

This is a copy of the special edition that was printed in Mezhibuzh in 1817 after being given an approbation by the holy Rav the Ohev Yisroel of Opatow. In some copies of this edition it was written by mistake that it was printed in 1780, possibly as copied from the title page of the Koretz 1780 edition. However, other copies were already corrected and revised. This is a copy with the correct precise year. Stefansky Chassidut 606.
