Postcard with rare content by Maran the Mashgi’ach the Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Yerucham Leibowitz of Mir, about registration to the Mir yeshiva. 1933.
The postcard was sent to Rabbi Yosef Shuv, a close confidante of the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Ozer of Vilna and general secretary of Va’ad Hayeshivos. In it, the Mashgi’ach, the Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Yerucham of Mir requests not to send students to the yeshiva due to its situation and other reasons.
The Gaon Rabbi yeruicham writes: ‘
At the end of the letter, he blesses with a Kosher and happy holiday.
The letter is signed with a different pen indicating that it was written by the scribe and secretary of the yeshiva. He signed his name: Y. Leibowitz. It is interesting to note that the letter was sent in Nissan 1933 from Mir yet reached its destination only in Tamuz 1933, as indicated by the stamps on verso of the leaf.
